[SWP] Re: Lot 14 (Old RAH Site)

They can't do controlled demolitions in Australia anymore since that girl in Canberra was killed by flying debris like 15-20 years ago. Things have to be done differently now and that means taking more time and going slower. Plus there's a lot of asbestos. It's got nothing to do with the project man...

Just realised this tower and Adelaide Central Markets tower will be across the road from each other!

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains

You can't remove Glanville it provides access to Semaphore, it should be updated and renamed Semaphore or Semaphore Road. It's also got a third track for terminating trains and storage. In hindsight, the Outer Harbor line should be in the middle of Lefevre Peninsula. The current location of the lin...

The light rail literally stops right outside the front of the entertainment centre and is barely 50 metres walk from Bowden...

How much more integration were you expecting!?

Fuck me, there's just no pleasing some people on here.

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains

Compared to the cost of station upgrades over on the East Coast, the price tags on these seem embarrassingly small. I sincerely hope they're not just putting in bus stop shelters and new asphalt.

It has a very gold coast vibe to it.

Surely they would have put in an on/off ramp in the Castle Plaza vicinity.

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains

A train line to Mount Barker is more viable than a $700m indoor entertainment centre noone wants.

Re: News & Discussion: Laneway & Streetscape Projects

Currie and Grenfell streets should fall under DIT jurisdiction, seeing as the majority of users on that road are Adelaide Metro buses. It's only fair.

Re: News & Discussion: Laneway & Streetscape Projects

Bank Street was perfectly fine before it got upgraded. It was inviting and attractive with all those parklets which added character to the street. Now it is just a soulless concrete jungle.

Re: Main South Road & Victor Harbor Road Upgrade

Since when has environmental impact statements ever got in the way of a politician or transport department proceeding with projects anyway?

Case in example, North East Link in Melbourne. The EIS is absolutely scathing of the project. A 16 lane freeway is still getting built anyway.

The Perth one is far better than the North Terrace one.

In fact that's kind of how I see the twin street proposal looking like.

I hereby declare this project the ugliest building in Adelaide.

Atira on Waymouth had a good run for 4 or so years.

What an absolute shocker this is. The state planning commission should hang their heads in shame.

It means exactly what it means.

Maybe a dumb question, and maybe on the wrong page, ...but How distinctive is "student housing"? How difficult would it be to reconfigure into family housing or retirement village or anything else? Student housing is basically single room hostel style accommodation, with common kitchen and bathroom...
