[PRO] Re: New Womens and Childrens Hospital

Definitely will be. I can't imagine many planning disasters more worth of condemnation than a parking lot in the parklands, but in this case I honestly think it's fine. This is undeniably the best spot for a new Women's and Children's hospital, and a facility like that needs close parking. It's als...

I know some of you don't like the idea of this building, but I'd like more like it, I want many more 100m+ high towers, maybe even a 200m one in the future. We can't just go on about this continually, its DONE, BUILT, can't do nothing about it  So you're happy to see 100m+ developments go u...

An extra $1b for the tunnel to include three lanes for the duration instead of two.

Hugely disappointing. Let's see if Marshall's rubbish $700m legacy project by the riverbank gets the nod still. Of course it will... Now waiting for a Labor election promise of just lowering the whole lot INCLUDING under Jetty Rd...hmm. Prelim works for the arena are progressing under this budget...

Have you had too much to drink tonight? Step away from the keyboard old man.
rev's got a point, there isn't much redemption in the immediate surrounding buildings on that side of North Terrace. This once from the side is turning out like a guitar fret board...

Reading these comments makes me ask the question of whether any of you actually spoken to an aboriginal person in your lives? It’s far more complicated then you think. A lot of these people who hang out on North Terrace have actually been moved from Alice Springs and NT by the territory government....

Well the positive aspect is that the first 3 levels aren't garbage I actually prefer the brick finish of first few floors in the revised proposal, however not particularly fond of them changing the curvature on the upper levels of the podium. Not sure how that change will benefit the street level?

Great photo! This has turned out much better than what I had expected. Safe to say it's exceeded a majority of our expectations. My only concern after having gone for a walk around the base of the building the other week, it doesn't appear that the white paint job on the columns has been done too t...

Re: News & Discussion: CBD Retail

Any idea why Rundle Square management/contractors are taking so damn long to complete the external facelift? Side-note: I hope there is a long-term plan to re-clad the white precast elements of the SA Health building above with black to match up with what's happening on street level. Also, I spoke t...

I say this as a heritage advocate myself; but this is so typical of the generally older, 'we have no alternative' arm-chair heritage advocates in Adelaide... They have their finger on the pulse when it comes to the demolition of heritage buildings (whether certain buildings are worth saving or not i...

I wouldn't be too concerned by the lack of street activation this build provides, look around... There is plenty of neighbouring street activation in evening hang outs like Cry Baby bar and Sunny's Pizza bar; I would think the more important argument to have is ensuring that this build doesn't limit...

One Hurtle Square topped out a couple of days ago, considering the speed so far on this project, I anticipate the roof and windows will happen quite quickly with the crane coming down in the next few weeks.

Re: News & Discussion: CBD Retail

I'm very much of the opinion that they should semi-pedestrianize Rundle Street. Make the footpaths wider with more space for street dining, and reduce the road to one lane of one way traffic for access. If that is successful, move to making the street closed off like during Fringe weekends for all ...
