Doors are out already:

On another note - I hope the Seppelt's sign gets restored. I'm sure I remember it being lit up not that long ago - maybe in the last 5-10 years?

Re: News & Discussion: General CBD Development

Here's the article: A major refurbishment of Adelaide’s InterContinental Hotel has been announced to bring back its “glory days”. The “top-to-bottom” upgrade, worth $32m, will include a redesign of all 367 rooms and a major facelift for the hotel’s entrance and lobby. Award-winning teppanyaki restau...

No problem. For reference, the window half way up the stairwell between Harry's Bar and the old Tattersalls Club will have a perfect vantage point over this site - at least until the new building reaches the first floor and blocks it.

Huge maybe, but the complete lack of even a small outdoor space would presumably be a turn off for many buyers, as would the relative lack of natural light compared to most new CBD apartments.

The DPA for the Bianco site at Kilkenny has been amended based on the outcome of the community consultation. Building heights and overall density have been reduced as per summary below https://i.imgur.com/hv7nDlG.jpg Full version can be viewed here: https://www.charlessturt.sa.gov.au/__data/assets/p...

They've reached the first transition level. Looks like they got their styling inspiration from the Outer Harbor rail bridge over South Road...

[U/C] Re: M2 North-South Motorway

Given that the motorway in this section is not trenched, I was really surprised at the sparse planting along the noise walls or as it appears in the photo. The walls themselves can amplify the noise back, and I would hate to be those houses in the vacinity of those walls. It should have a thick for...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide City Council

The plot thickens... I guess this is what we get for having such a low residential population in the CBD. I wonder what the percentages are for ratepayers eligible to vote in ACC elections in terms of residents vs business owners? Presumably the latter as far less interested in general amenity and w...

Re: New City Arena

I actually don't mind this proposal in itself. I really don't like the $700m price tag. I'd still think it was expensive at half that.

Re: New City Arena

They've got rocks in their head if they think the existing Entertainment Centre site can be sold and redeveloped any time in the next two decades. Bowden has slowed and is not even halfway through the area, with two other large sites in the Coke and West End brewery sites also sitting there. Would ...

Re: Beer Garden

Not forgetting the increased popularity of home delivery. Not everyone needs a car to do their weekly shop any more. I live in Croydon and as a family we use the train loads (plus bikes where possible). We have one car and probably only do 5-7,000km in that every year. It's perfectly possible to rel...
