Re: News & Discussion: CBD Retail

Absolutely agree - have all car park access from Pulteney Street on a two way access road that would extend no further than the Wilson car park entry and make the remaining portions beween Wilson and Frome and West Terrace single lane and ideally shared-space as opposed to a dedicated vehicle lane....

[U/C] Re: M2 North-South Motorway

Apparently R2P is several months ahead of schedule. hopefully all the experience gained from all the recent projects using prefab bridge spans will flow on to level crossing removals It would be great to see level crossing removals addressed around Adelaide, like you say there's a lot of recent exp...

Re: News & Discussion: CBD Retail

I'm very much of the opinion that they should semi-pedestrianize Rundle Street. Make the footpaths wider with more space for street dining, and reduce the road to one lane of one way traffic for access. If that is successful, move to making the street closed off like during Fringe weekends for all s...

Great photos Andy thanks.-Cant wait to finally get back and see all the new stuff since I was last there. Cant place where the last photo of the frame trees is though?
Between Waymouth and Franklin Street, between the Advertiser building and the old GPO.

the developers have literally fucked this house    According to the dictionary: (informal) it is okay to use the word LITERALLY for emphasis, while not being literally true. Kind of defeats the purpose of the word, if you ask me. It literally makes no sense. :D

Looks about right. And I wasn’t meaning to imply that that surface section proposed is currently some tree lined boulevard, I guess I’m just curious as to why they have proposed such a long tunnel, through some pretty average commercial space, but then pop up to the surface for a mere 2km slap bang...

Re: Did the forum change?

Seems like traffic to SA has slowed down, I wonder how much of it is due to the site being painful to quickly access now.

[PRO] Re: Main North Road/Nottage Terrace Intersection Upgrade

You could use that argument about most overpasses/underpasses created, I mean where does it end? After dealing with this intersection the next set of traffic lights and intersection isn't far away. Most overpasses/underpasses created have that intersection as the current bottleneck though, so at le...

[U/C] Re: 52-66 King William Street | 65m | 15 Levels | Southern Cross Arcade

This is a disappointing turn of events. I liked the initial idea of the new development wrapping around the James Place Hotel. I'm assuming this is a bit of cost cutting, in that its probably cheaper to build a monolithic facade to James Place rather than preserving the old pub. Yeah, a real shame....

I also have a feeling (although a quick search didn't provide an answer) that Ikea owns all their physical stores. I doubt they own stores that are located in Westfield shopping centres though. How many Ikea's are in Westfield's though? From a quick search there are a least a couple in Australia by...

Re: News & Discussion: CBD Retail

Why is that an issue? It makes perfect sense. The only bad thing about it is that it feels very awkward exiting to Grenfell Street from the food court if you aren't actually shopping in Coles, but I don't think there's an easy solution for that. There are at least 2 or 3 other lifts inside the food...

Re: News & Discussion: CBD Retail

All of the fresh food area has been revamped, the deli counter has gone (which is weird as it was always very busy) and the checkouts have moved further towards the front of store, around where the old customer service desk used to be. The liquor store is approximately where the old checkouts used ...
